Privacy Policy

The short version: your documents are processed by your own device and are never sent anywhere. There is no account, no cloud, and no way for us to see what you scan.

Your documents

All scanning happens locally in your browser: camera capture, edge detection, perspective correction, filters, signature placement and PDF generation run as JavaScript and WebAssembly on your device. Images exist only in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the tab. They never touch our servers — the application is served as static files and has no upload endpoint.

Your signature

If you draw a signature, it is saved in your browser's local storage on your device so you don't have to redraw it next time. It is never transmitted. You can remove it by clearing site data for scandocument.app in your browser.

Analytics

We use DataFast, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count anonymous page visits (which pages are opened, from which country, on which device type) and to log visits by search-engine and AI crawlers. This tells us how many people use the site — it cannot see your documents, your signature, or anything you scan. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell data.

Cookies and local data

The site stores a service-worker cache (so it loads fast and works offline) and, optionally, your drawn signature. Both live entirely on your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
